A Miserable Fact About Some Young Stars
You don't even have to be out of diapers in order to have a career in the movies or television these days it seems like. So where are all these child stars coming from? It seems they are growing out of the walls. But they have to come from somewhere. And even with their own talent, they may be suffering.
Unfortunately, so many of these kids go from the spot light to the jail cell or even worse. It is a wonder they can't manage to make more out of all that talent, but their whole lives are kind of dedicated to this facade of importance and publicity and it makes their lives a mess.
These child actors and musicians and such just don't seem to be able to get it together. The casualty list is endless for child stars who when they get to be adults, find themselves unemployed.
These people need the time to develop normally, but they don't get that chance. Kids all want to grow up. They want to stay up later, go out by themselves, drive and participate in all the cool stuff that happens with older kids.
They have no chance to learn how to behave in normal situations, like so many of us do. The parent's role in child development is to provide the scaffolding for their child and gradually remove it as the child attains skills and abilities.
These child stars don't have the normal opportunities to develop their own views of the world and so they turn to other things to experience their outlet of ability. They need to succeed, but they can't.
This is where the child stars seem to enter into realms of conflict with their lives. The media survives on sensation.
They can't get beyond what their own limitations are and often this leads to imminent destruction. It's not that you have such different problems than anyone else your age, they're just blown up beyond recognition.
