How Freeing Your Mind Can Lead To A More Fulfilling Life
Today's world may seem, for some people like it's moving faster than it ever has before. Some people get a rush from trying to experience everything life has to offer, even if some of these things are a bit dangerous. What most people seem to want is simply to lead as stress-free of a life as possible, no matter what the situation. If you're interested in broadening some horizons and perhaps attracting a bit more peace into your life, freeing your mind from ideas that are holding you back, might be a good place to start.
You may share one physical world with the rest of humanity, but your own personal world is really the only one you will ever truly know. Your world may consist of trying to make everyone else happy, or one may keep it spinning by trying to impose their will on those around them. If you believe your way is the right way, the only way, and refuse to see anyone Else's point of view, it can be said that you've created a prison within your own mind and you may not even realize it.
Children rarely seem to have problems being free. They've not yet realized that they are alone with themselves and they've not yet built up the walls that many adults are so great at doing. Being a child is all about being free and growing from the experience. When you start to get older, things like jobs, money and relationships can make you feel like you're tied down. No matter how hard you try to get everything done, there just isn't enough time and things are never quite done.
Children don't usually need help freeing their minds. Their minds are completely open. It's only as they get older that they learn how to construct the walls that can imprison them. And they learn this from adults. It's a cycle that keeps repeating itself. You may have been taught to believe what your parents believed. The 'truth' whatever it may be for them, is expected to be held onto by you as well.
People who can look into another person's world and not only understand how that person is feeling, but also feel inside themselves some empathy for that person, have taken a big step in loosening the restraints within their minds. Not just knowing, but actually accepting and being okay with the fact that not everyone is going to look like you, act like you, or think like you, can also be a step towards personal freedom.
Just about every person who lives on this earth is aware of the guidelines that are in place to help everyone live alongside each other. It doesn't matter what religion you are or where you stand politically, some rules simply need to followed. However, this does not mean you can't or shouldn't question them. The more you question everything, the more you will begin to understand. The more you're able to understand and feel, the freer your mind will become.
When you feel one restraint snap, it can start a chain reaction. There are things you must do in order to survive. There are certain rules that must be obeyed. Working on freeing your mind of many (if not all) of the restrictions that have been placed on it, means following the laws of humankind while still being able to think for yourself. When you can accept or at least tolerate other views, beliefs and people, you will be on your way to freedom.
