Versatility Unmatched -Ajay Devgan
Ajay Devgan, a two-time National award winner is one of the finest acting talents of Indian cinema. Born as Vishal Devgan, Ajay entered the world of films with Phool Aur Kaante, as an action hero, unlike his fellow actors. He became popular for his action roles in several of his mega hit movies and then he began trying out other genres too. It is at this point that he signed Ishq, with Kajol and enacted a comedy character. Besides Ishq, the Ajay-Kajol pair have also worked in in Pyar To Hona Hi Tha, one of the huge hits of the year 1998.
National Recognition for the First Time.
In 1998, through Zakhm, he got the Best Actor Award in National Film Awards. He was seen in a serious role in this Mahesh Bhatt film. He acted with Nagarjuna, Pooja Bhatt and Sonali Bendre in the movie depicting a story of 1992 riots as backdrop. As he continued experimenting with different roles, in the year 2002, Rajkumar Santhoshi offered him the biographical film, The Legend of Bhagat Singh, to essay the character of Bhagat Singh. Other Films.
Within a span of twenty years, Ajay has acted in more than 100 movies. His negative characters in Khakee and Kaal were liked widely and he got nominated for Best Villain in Filmfare Awards. Raincoat, Yuva and Golmaal are some of his acclaimed films. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was his co-actor in the art movie Raincoat. Omkara, Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge, Gangaajal, Rajneeti, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai and Zameen are Ajay's other critically acclaimed movies.
In order to concentrate on his first film as a producer, he accepted only 2 films in 2000 - Deewane and Raju Chacha. Although the movie was not commercially successful, it featured the off-screen couple of Ajay and Kajol once again. His search for new challenges in Hindi movie industry made him direct the film U, Me Aur Hum in 2008. He was the main actor and producer of the movie. Following this movie, he produced All The Best: The Fun Begins. Tezz, Power and Singham are a few of his upcoming movies in Bollywood.
