The festival became generally popular after attendance from famous names like Cary Grant, Kirk Douglas, Grace Kelly and Sophia Loren in the 1950s. The festival also inspired interplay between producers and other members of the film industry.
The present day festival
At first the Film Festival included several representatives from 16 different countries to push equality.
