Now who among us doesn't just love a good famous quote and there are just so many out there to choose from. They are interesting little statements from everyone - politicians to even famous criminals. Some that make us think and some that are so simple and sensible they require no thought at all. And then some, like "a stitch in time saves nine" we still try to figure out to this day. What in the heck is a stitch in time anyway?

Then some of the most famous and amusing quotes come from people you would not even consider to be great thinkers, yet it turns out that they were. For sure authors, poets, and musicians have been good over the years for contributing their fair share of famous bits of wisdom to repeat and ponder their meaning. Perhaps you've heard the very famous adage given to us by John Lennon for instance when he stated that "life is what happens when we're busy making plans" and how true it is that we have so much to contend with in the world that we can't control.

Then there are reams of sayings and we hear all throughout our lives that no one really knows where they originated from.
