By Alex Bannon

If you aren't up to shape on all of the best Texas Holdem Hands you definitely need to get your act into gear. This info is guaranteed to be true and correct, so read this article now.

Once you know the rules of Holdem, nothing else remains but to understand the hand rankings. A good knowledge on what beats what in Holdem may prove useful as you play. You will learn what to look out for to form the strongest hand possible instead of just settling for the first card combination you see. Here are the best Texas Holdem hands - the hands that may win you the pot, arranged in order from the weakest to the most winnable.

High Card - these are cards that do not have a pair but rather rely on one individual high card. While this card may be the least of you priorities when forming a hand, having this at the showdown does not necessarily mean losing the round.

One Pair - these contain two cards or a pair, of the same rank with three random kickers.

Two Pair - these are any two cards of equal value (a pair) but two of them, with one side card.

Three of a Kind - these are three cards with the same rank plus two random kickers.

Straight - these are five consecutive cards of mixed suits. Aces can used low (A2345) or high (10JQKA).

Flush - these are five cards of the same suit that come in no particular order

Full House - full houses consist of a pair and three of a kind all in the one hand.

4 of a Kind - 4 of a kind are four cards of the same rank plus one side card.

Straight Flush - straight flushes are made up of five consecutive cards in the same suit.

Royal Flush - this is the unbeatable combination and consists of five consecutive cards from 10 to Ace, all in the same suit. This is one of the best Texas Holdem hands.

Tiebreakers are decided by card rankings and kickers. As in the case of a two pair for example, the side cards may determine who wins. If the rankings are totally similar, the pot will have to be split between the active players.

You'll win more often by only playing the best Texas Holdem hands. Always aim to be holding at least a two-pair but preferably a three of a kind, straight or higher.
