Archos MP3 Player - Advice From A Friend
After years of faithful service my old MP3 player finally bit the dust. After looking at all the possibilities I decided to get an Archos MP3 player. My buddy has one and he swears that it has everything but the virgin adapter.
Biking is my main form of exercise so I like a player that is fairly light and this is only 1.9 ounces, not heavy at all. It's size is only 3.7 x 2.2 and only 0.4 inches thick so it will easily slide into a pocket. I just clip it on my shorts and I'm good to go.
The screen is a very nice 3 Inch display, pretty standard size but the picture is sharp as can be. It has a touch screen that is also standard in the industry but it is very responsive. I have heard horror stories from other brands that require 3 or 4 touches to get any activity.
For me the music functionality is the main topic, It last up to 14 hours before any recharging is necessary. It supports WMA, MP3, and WAV file formats. Any kind of music file you can throw at it, it plays fine. It sports a lyric function so you can read the song on the screen as it plays.
Archos seems to have no problem with any video format as MPEG 1/2/4, FLV, WMV, RM, AVI, and RMVB are supported with ease. Any video you download and be viewed on this player.
It does have some weak areas as the screen scratches easily so a screen protector is a must. The on screen control dial can be used for browsing tracks but the second coming might happen before you find what your looking for.
All in all I would have to say that the Archos MP3 player was a great choice for me.
