The Self Promotion Of Al Gomes
Al Gomes is a great self promoter. He is linked throughout the internet. From blogs to the company sponsored websites, he is well known. He can even boast a Wikipedia page.
Gomes founded big Noise in 1990 to help independent artists with their music. This company is dedicated to assisting newly signed talent in art direction and money management. However, some are questioning his commitment to these artists. Also, they also want to know if he has been one hundred percent truthful.
And yet, a few are questioning his company's business ethics, as well as his credentials. They say he lies. They claim that he actually didn't work with the people on his website, including Christian Aguilera, Little Anthony, and Little Anthony, as well as many others. Perhaps he did have some minor connection with these famous people. If he did then some of his statements would be true. It is difficult to know if he is totally truthful or not.
Of course, there is always one fact that can be substantiated. Gomes did support The Band Wagon Project. And this music based charity event did raise large amounts of money, bringing in awareness to the needs of the homeless and hungry in America. Furthermore, Gomes did write the song, Three Sides of Hunger, which he is currently promoting on his official website.
Evidently, he is a humanitarian, and a charitable person. Many continue to recognize this. And yet, the allegations continue to grow. Dishonest companies will usually do two things. First, they play on the artist's feelings. Secondly, they ask for money. These are two things people are claiming about Big Noise.
Think twice about any person wishing to represent your music when they say, 'It's great', or 'it's wonderful'. If they are genuine, they will simply have more to say. It takes a great deal of effort and time to sponsor an artist, and most publishers and agents know this.
Look for a swindle if they ask for money. True people in the industry receive a cut of the proceeds from the artists work. If the musician succeeds, they succeed. And if they want someone to do well, they will be extremely interested in the person.
Always ask lots of questions. Be cold and hard. Interrogate them about specifics. Demand to know everything up front. An honest company will have nothing to hide. In fact, they will have an abundance of information. Scam companies, on the other hand, will often falter and stumble. They also might become extremely defensive.
With all the information out there, it looks like everyone will have to judge for themselves as to whether Big Noise is a total scam operation, or whether this is a media ploy to direct more attention to Al Gomes. The only person who knows for sure is Mr. Gomes.
