Below is the list of Texas Hold Em Hand Rankings in order:
1. Royal Flush - nothing can beat this card combination. It consists of an Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten all in the same suit.
2. Straight Flush - these are five cards in a sequence that are all in the same suit. In case of a tie, card ranking will determine the winner. For example, a straight flush of JT987 will always be beaten by QJT98.
3. Four of A Kind - consist of four cards of the same rank and one side card called the kicker. Ties are broken by ranking. Ex. 9999 will always beat 7777.
4. Full House - these are comprised of two sets of cards; one set of three cards and another of two. Cards of both sets must be of the same rank. Ex. 88866
5. Flush - in reality, this is one of the card combinations that players are always able to form the winning combination in. This hand contains five cards in the same suit.
6. Straight - this is another frequent hand that wins the pot. It consists of five cards in order but in different suits.
7. Three of a Kind - these have three cards of the same rank plus two kickers
8. Two Pair - these, as the name suggests, have two pairs of the same ranks plus one kicker
9. One Pair - as the name states, this combination has only one pair with three kicker cards
10. High Card - these are cards that cannot be classified into any of the ones above it. What constitutes a high card however, is the highest card in the combination.
Ties in Holdem are not unlikely but in the event that players both have the same hand rankings, the combinations will be compared by card. So it is also important to be conscious of not only of the hands you hold but also of the cards you use to combine them.
