CND vs. Harmony
Harmony Gelish and CNG Shellac are two of the most well known hybrid soak-off nail polishes. How do they stack up? Keep reading to find out.
Cost
There are two ways to determine the cost. When applied at a nail salon, the cost is about the same. However, when purchased on your own, the cost is very different. Gelish costs drastically less than Shellac. So Gelish wins the cost battle.
Amount of Colors To Choose From
When it comes to the amount of colors to choose from, both CND and Harmony are lacking. Currently, they only have 48 colors each. That pales in comparison to brands like OPI and China Glaze. When it comes to colors, both CND and Harmony lose.
Application of the polish
Basically, the total amount of time is the same. But Gelish definitely has more steps to actually apply the nail polish and various base and top coats. The only difference is that it cures a lot faster. The winner? Draw
Durability
If applied correctly, both should last up to 14 days. However, word on the street is that Gelish has a better top coat than Shellac that lasts longer and is much shinier. This may be because Gelish is a gel polish and Shellac is a hybrid (gel/nail polish). Gels tend to be thicker and harder once dried.
Winner: Harmony Gelish
How hard is it to remove?
CND is far easier to remove because it is a hybrid nail polish and not a gel nail polish. It requires no extra scraping prior to removal.
About the Brand
Again, this is a bit tricky to answer. Harmony prides themselves on their discretion, making it harder for the average nail polish enthusiast to enjoy. However, at least when you purchase a bottle of Gelish, there is a lower possibility that it is a faux. Results: Draw
Total Results
I think that it's fair to crown Harmony as the winner of this product war. Both polishes have a lot to offer, but one is slightly better.
