Star Wars Events
Going to your first Star Wars convention could be a little odd. After all, it's not every day that you are in a whole room filled with grown ups who are all dressed up in outfits from a particular collection. Nonetheless, regardless how odd it seems like, it's also loads of fun. I also have a collection of Bibles for Children when I was still a kid.
I've had more fun at the Star Wars conventions I have attended than almost anywhere else. The outfits, the exhibits, the stars, and of course the Star Wars collectibles all make for an exciting time that's almost literally out of this world.
The secret to enjoying Star Wars conventions is to just roll with it. A lot of people feel self-conscious concerning getting in to it at first. It seems a little bit strange to try to go into character - particularly if there will probably be no less than 50 people around you dressed up as the same character. Still, try to feel at ease doing it.
You will have a much better time if you allow the whole fantasy role-play aspect of it overwhelm you as well as plunge in to it.
After all, the whole point of the thing is to immerse yourself in the Star Wars world. It is no pure chance that the series has had the staying power it has. Even before they produced the newest three films, there were individuals who had read the books, memorized the dialog, and adored the original trilogy from the very beginning.
Star Wars gives people an uncomplicated world minus the moral complexities that we need to live with. It provides a universe of right and wrong in which an evil kingdom is being challenged by a morally pure and righteous rebellion. You don't have to worry about complicated shades of meanings. It is all there for you.
Going to Star Wars conventions allows you to be around individuals who can really understand and appreciate this. It is a very good get away, particularly when carried out in the company of other like-minded fans. You could be anyone you want to be, whether good or evil, incidental or central.
Individuals will accept you for your identiity and for who you are pretending to be. In a kind of nerdy, unusual way, it is a slice of heaven. And also if it's not your world, it still may be worth checking out just to view the strangeness of it all.
