Why Individuals Above 50 Are Actually Happier
Believe it or not, people over the age of 50 are actually happier than younger folks. That's according to studies conducted by people who study things. And it's funny because us young folks all seem to think that life ends after middle age. Not so, they say.
One survey in particular compared groups of people based on their sense of well-being. The study compared more than 300,000 people in the US and matched them up based on things like whether they were married or not, or whether they had kids or a job. Then it asked them a bunch of other questions. Well, it turns out that state of mind varies by age.
Things like stress and anger levels went down over the course of time, while things like worries tended to remain the same, at least until the middle age years.
Sadness and happiness were also compared. One, sadness, seemed to go down after the age of 50, while happiness did the opposite. The reverse was true of the reverse situation.
The ladies had a slightly different experience. That went from higher stress levels and worries and sadness, but they also went to the happier place after the age of 50. The patterns tended to be equal across the genders which makes the genders equal no matter what the people have to say.
One of the things that the study really puts a lead pin inside of is the notion that you really have to examine your feelings, whether it is sadness, happiness, worry or stress. Also you might be happier for some reasons.
Something that the researchers think they may have to suggest to some people from time to time is that they may have more experience, they who are of the older sort, with being able to keep their emotions in check.
You may have regrets, but some people think that the end is happiness and pie. And that is why the old folks know how to keep sane and safe. So the achievement has been reached and they are all to be known.
Of course, nothing is so simple. We cannot confirm or deny that happiness starts at 50.
