A hamster can really be a pet that you, like so many other people, can get to enjoy very much. It is an easy to care for pet that is cute to look at, and is fun to play around with, and that is why so many people have one of these.

But make sure that they have enough space to move around a bit. Whether or not you get a running wheel, the hamster will still need an area to move around in.
And they need to do some moving around because that will help them live a healthy life. But they generally only live for a couple of years.
You might want to look at the Syrian hamster as an option for a hamster that likes to be alone in a cage. They generally are up in the nighttime and are sleeping during the day.
A dwarf hamster comes in at four to five inches long when fully grown. A lot of hamster owners choose one of these guys.
A Chinese Hamster is often mistaken for a dwarf hamster because they look similar. They also like to be on their own and not have another hamster around.
