Bond 23 details are scarce ahead of filming
It's now less than a year before the next 007 Movie, now known simply as Bond 23, hits the screens in London on October 26th. In this post we'll have a look at the info known about the film, which starts filming in Nov 2011, before any official statement over the movie's name or casting details.
Important things first; it has been confirmed that Daniel Craig will return in his third Bond Movie and the director is the highly renowned Sam Mendes, known best for American Beauty and Road to Perdition.
The screenplay has been penned by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade with additional work by John Logan. And while no official confirmation has been made relating to Judi Dench as M, the actress has claimed that she will reprise her role.
Another actor who has announced his participation is Spanish actor Javier Bardem, although he has still to be confirmed by producers EON Productions; and Ralph Fiennes is strongly rumored though, once more, there was no official word.
It is also known that filming in India had been planned, but delays it getting the essential allows meant that was abandoned; filming may take place instead in South Africa, while it is known that filming authorizes have been granted for Istanbul and more rumours put China in the frame.
Another piece of detective work goes toward pointing at "Skyfall" being the title of Bond 23 after a company registered a few domains for Sony Photos containing the word Skyfall. While that may be any Sony film, a few of the domains also contain "James Bond" in them too , which is pretty conclusive.
That is not much to go on, but with a press conference predicted when styudio work commences we should shortly know more. What is certain is that the many James Bond fans who were unhappy with Quantum of Solace desire Bond 23 to be a big improvement; Casino Royale hit the spot and created the next generation of fans, but Quantum of Solace was sorely short of many areas.
