Using loops in this way, you can weave tunes by adding to and building on your current content, if you want to know the fundamental process, here are some simple steps to get started

Set up Garageband on your system. You can download a free edition or if you want to make some more sophisticated tunes, you can buy the full edition of the software, either on-line or at many retail stores

Once it is installed on your computer, access the application (GargeBand) and click on the tab on the bottom right hand side (it looks like an eyeball). Clicking this allows you to select 'Loop View"

Now you should get a scroll bar that lets you scroll through all of the loops available until you discover one that you want. (You can import your personal loops and add them to this listing)

Click on the loop and move your cursor to the top right hand corner, you can extend the loop by simply dragging it.
