Russell Crowe's Greatest Performances In Recent Memory
Let's talk about one of the most popular actors in the movie industry: Russell Crowe. Sure he has had his fair share of legal issues and is known to have quite the temper, but you cannot deny the talent this man has when put on the silver screen. I think Crowe is one of the better actors out there, and the movie industry is a better place for having him around.
When it comes to choosing his best films, however, it is not such an easy task. This article will cite some of his best works.
The Insider is the first movie that makes the list for me. This movie focuses on the harsh truths of the cigarette industry, and one man who is trying to let the world know. Paranoia starts setting in, however, as the cigarette industry is not looking to have their secrets exposed on national television.
Another movie that I definitely feel is worth mentioning is 3:10 To Yuma. In this movie, Russell Crowe plays an outlaw who is captured and is being transferred to get sent off to jail. The only problem is his posse isn't going to let that happen so easy. Action ensues.
Of course, it goes without saying that any list of Russell Crowe films would have to include Gladiator. This is easily my favorite film of his, and with good reason. It came as little surprise that this film won the Academy Award for Best Picture of the Year.
Another fantastic movie that showcases Russell Crowe's talent is A Beautiful Mind. Crowe stars as true life mathematician John Nash, whose life takes a turn for the worse after some incredible discoveries. I don't want to ruin this film for you if you haven't already seen it, but it is great.
Finally, I have to include Cinderella Man on this list. Maybe the movie fell short of its best picture of the year goals, but this was no doubt one of the better sports films we have seen in recent memory. Crowe is sensational as James Braddock, and Rene Zellweger is great as the supporting actress.
Hopefully there is at least one film on this list of Russell Crowe movies which you have not yet seen.
