The last thing you want to have happen is getting hurt due to the fact that you put on the wrong shoe.

Want to know what I think? Get a perfect couple of athletics shoes specific to the type of races you do. You'll most likely need spikes of some kind for a track meet, while a wide range of shoes are accessible for additional road races. For your long distance preparation runs, you'll have the inclination to ensure you've paid for a good combination of good support without adding a lot of extra weight.
