It would be setting a good example because your children may become successful writers one day, and they may not want to show off what you write because of the errors you made.
Penmanship is also something you can work on even though most professional writers use a computer to write their novels. You still would want to work on that for other cases such as writing a paper for school for any other occasion. It would be a good idea for you to be able to read what you wrote.
