Keeping up with the high street fashion families
Celebrity clothing lines are nothing new, but famous family members pairing up is a relatively recent addition to the world of high-profile, high street fashion.
Actress and style leader Sienna Miller and sister Savannah got the ball rolling over here in 2006 with the launch of Twenty8Twelve. The brand, which is named for Sienna's birthday, features pieces that represent the breezy blonde's elegance. However, it is Savannah, already a working fashion designer, who is the chief creative drive behind the label's high street and high-end creations.
Ranges that really reach out to fans have hit the rails in high street fashion stores however. Madonna and her rocker-chic daughter Lourdes Ciccone have made waves across the pond with the launch of their new high street fashion line, Material Girl. The mother-and-daughter design duo are into their second season and sales of the teen focused Madge-inspired rocker gear are soaring. Bright young talent, Lourdes admitted that like most young girls she worships her mum's style and wanted to reflect a fresh new twist on that infamous quirky fashion demeanour in their high street fashion line.
British rocker girl legend Pearl Lowe adds a touch of class to high street fashion with the launch of her spring/summer 2011 vintage inspired collection for Peacocks. Her six piece collection will be modelled by daughter and style leader, Daisy Lowe.
Pearl's spring/summer 2011 collection will mark her sixth collaboration with Peacocks and features delicate summer tea dresses, offering customers designer high street fashion for 40. For her latest collection, Pearl took inspiration from the French Riviera and Brigitte Bardot to create her decedent collection of vintage inspired fashion.
This season also features Pearl Lowe's classic collection, which re-imagines some of her most loved high street designs. At Daisy's request, and in response to sheer demand, Pearl has revisited her classic monochrome bow design with an LBD makeover. Also part of the collection is summer 2010's polka dot dress - as worn by Alexa Chung, Gizzi Erskine and Holly Willoughby - now available in a new range of colours.
