When people think of pets, the first thing that comes to mind is usually not a lizard and that is for good reason. It's not exactly furry or too cute, after all it is a lizard.
If you decide to go for a pet lizard then you first have to make sure that you are really the type of person that would enjoy having one in your home. Not everyone likes to have lizards around.
People who get grossed out easily may want to choose another pet. A lizard owner is a certain type of person and you should know if that is you before committing.
While lizards don't make sense for everyone, if you think that one could be for you then you might want to start looking around for one. Find one that will make you happy and get it home.
Lizards are often happiest in warmer environments and when they are crawling along during the daylight hours. If it gets really hot or really cold then they will look to crawl into a small space and just remain there.
Different lizards require different types of food so you will want to make sure that you know what your species eats. You will have to provide either insects, plants, or small animals.
Sometimes a lizard will be bigger than you would have imagined so prepare extra space. It isn't nice to the lizard if it gets too big for it's area.
