The earlier version of the series will remind viewers not only of the "Hoff", but of the Knight Rider car called Kit. Sleek and stylish, Kit was a beauty of a Trans Am Firebird. The span of red lights along the car's hood was as unique a characteristic as the talking computer which could be quite finicky in attitude. The camera would often zoom in on the lights as they all produced different sounds while flashing in sequence.

From the perspective an older generation, I tend to think the producers and writers seemed to cater more to the adolescent viewers. There were problems that would arise occasionally with this philosophy, as the tried to incorporate too much popular trite. Getting a feel for the new version can be a little hard, though - if your a true fan of the original like me! Hasselhoff and team where the "bomb" when it came to combating injustice, so it's kind of funny seeing new "hunks" and "supermodels" saving the world in this new Knight Rider. That's life, though, right? (Actually, must be something to do with MY life, and the "life" of the SHOW)!

But to have Hasselhof back in his original role of Michael Knight was really the best part of all. I wonder how they will fit Hasselhof's character into the show even if he only appears occasionally in a guest starring spot.

Conclusion of the original Knight Rider series eventually led to some made-for-television films. Of those were Knight Rider 2000, and yet another version that came out within the early 90's referred to as Knight Rider 2010. The television series Team Knight Rider came out later within the 90's.

The most recent installment of Knight Rider was a 2-hour made-for-TV movie the premiered the 17th of February in 2008 on NBC, sparking this new series.
