Picking The Best Party Dress

By Thomas L. Malone

It's always great to be invited to a party but the shock comes when you open your closet door and realize you have nothing to wear for the occasion. It can take all the fun out of going to a formal function and really ruin what could be a great night. Fortunately, finding the right outfit for an evening out doesn't have to be a chore.

Party dresses are a great option for going out because they come in formal and less formal styles. You can pick the right dress by focusing on your best figure features. Always dress to fit your figure and not whatever trend may be hot right now. Read on.

Think about your body type and look for a style that flatters it. It's nice to be trendy but if what's in doesn't look good on your body type than forget it. Find a pretty party dress that looks good on you and not just the mannequin. The good news is that there are all kinds of party dresses.

When you get in the store don't be intimated by all the styles on the racks. Not all of them are for you. Skip the ones that don't fit your body type. Try on a few styles before committing.

Think about the event you are attending. If it's super formal you may want something that fits the bill. Adding some splash in the form of sequins or shine is always a nice touch. On the other hand, if you're going somewhere more sedate, like a work function, leave the cleavage and glitz at home.

Think about what colors you like and which flatter your face. Most people look good in color so don't be shy about wearing it. Black is classic but boring. It's the first choice of the unimaginative. Instead, look for a color that makes your skin glow and eyes pop.

Once you've picked out the right dress be sure to finish it off with the right accessories. They can really make an outfit. Look for complementing necklaces, earrings, belts, shoes and purses to really pull the look together.

So, you see it's really not hard to pull together a great look for an evening out at a party. The most important thing is to look in the mirror and figure out what your best features are, then dress to emphasize them. If you do not put the work in when searching for that dress, in the end you will just be disappointed with the results that you get.
